Abstract
The study focused on measuring the level of physical literacy as well as their sports engagement. Moreover, the test of significant difference on their level of physical literacy and sports engagement when their profile variables are considered as the test factor was also included in the study. On the hand, the researcher would like also to test if a significant relationship exists between physical literacy and sports engagement. This study used a descriptive-correlational research design, The study revealed that majority of the respondents are male who are at the first-year level and preferably likes badminton game out of fourteen (14) game choices; As to Physical Literacy, the physical domain indicators have the highest result which means that the students are aware of the sports available for their physical education. However, physical activities resulted to a low-level literacy because of their intention to be more involved in e-games as their genera-tion suggests but are all aware that they need to pass their physical education subject as part of their academic journey. The least variable is social which means that the students may be the socialization they prefer is with online games. Moreover, the students have least socialization since mostly of their physical education activities are done with their classmates which they often see or mingle with during or other subjects; All domain indicators affirm that sex and year level is not a significant factor as to the students’ literacy whereas the null hypothesis is accepted, hence, significant difference was exist when favorite sports is considered as the test factor that led to the rejection of the null hypothesis. Based on the results of the study, the students’ level of sports engagement indicates dedication as the highest variable which means that the students are enthusiastic in performing well in their physical sports because of the happiness as its impact leading to a better manner of spending time to participate in group activities. The least variable is vigor because not all students have the strength to play the sports and prefer those that they perform within their capacities even if they like other sports. The test of significant difference revealed that in terms sex and year level there is no significant difference on their sports engagement that also led to the acceptance of the null hypothesis but significant difference was revealed when the favorite sports was used as the test factor that led to the rejection of the null hypothesis.
