Abstract

Vocational education plays a key role in talent cultivation and it is beneficial for both social and economic development. Located in the easternmost part in Shandong Province, the city of Weihai has vigorously developed its vocational education in recent years. Its local vocational colleges in this coastal city have initiated a series of cooperation with South Korea, Japan and other countries, learning and absorbing the advanced experience and techniques in the daily communication. Furthermore, local enterprises hold a positive attitude and provide a large number of chances in training and job seeking for students. This is a seamless connection because students can immediately go to work after the graduation. They can make use of what they have learnt in schools and apply the knowledge and skills into daily work. However, there are still defects such as the insufficiency of specialists and inadequacy of internationalization. The publicity of local vocational schools should also be strengthened.
