Abstract
This article aims to study the development of traditional Chinese mythological animated films since the new century. Traditional mythology, as an important component of Chinese culture, has rich expressive power and unique aesthetic value in animated films. Firstly, this article reviews the development process of domestic animated films with traditional mythological themes in China since the new century. From "The Heavenly Palace" to "Nezha's Demon Child Comes to Earth", domestic animated films have made significant achievements in traditional mythological themes. These works have not only gained widespread recognition in the domestic market, but also received a certain degree of attention in the international market. Subsequently, this article discussed the creation of domestic mythological animated films. The creative team emphasizes the uniqueness and representativeness of traditional myths, striving to combine Chinese traditional culture with contemporary aesthetic needs. Finally, this article explores the current development status and future trends of domestic traditional mythological animated films based on practical cases. Although significant development achievements have been made, there are still some challenges and problems to be faced.
