Abstract

The major goal of this study was to ascertain how gender roles attitudes relate to contemporary homo-negativity and ambivalent sexism. Also, the objective of this study was to demonstrate that there was no statistically significant relationship between age and level of homo-negativity expressed, that straight people were more homo-negativity than gay people, and that relationship status has no effect on level of homo-negativity. This research study was descriptive-correlational, which was a term for any scientific procedure starting with description of an occurrence or events based on observation, from which theories may later be created to account for the observations. This study concluded that most of the respondents agreed with ambivalent sexism and modern homo-negativity. While most of the respondents have a neutral response towards gender role attitudes. Furthermore, it was found that a significant relationship exists between the level of gender role attitudes towards ambivalent sexism and modern homo-negativity.
