Abstract

The Buddha, Guanyin, Bodhisattva and other Buddha paintings in the frescoes of Dazhao Monastery occupy an important position in the art of painting in the Tubo period. In the hall of Dazhao Monastery, the paintings of Buddhism and mandala are mainly rich in content and full of composition, and their flattering and vivid forms are displayed. This paper discusses the layout features of the murals in the Buddha Hall of the Naiqiong Monastery and Scripture Hall and the Buddha Hall of the Daxiong Monastery, Dazhao Temple, Hohhot, Inner Mongolia, China. According to the analysis of the existing images of Dazhao Temple, the overall scale of the murals is large, and the layout is extremely standardized and tidy, reflecting the relationship between Inner Mongolia and Tibet since the end of the Ming Dynasty, and integrating the layout features of multi-ethnic, cultural, and artistic murals.
