Abstract

The non-ethical problem of civil society is the key clue to grasp the theory of civil society. Hegel put forward the argument that civil society is unethical, but his discussion on the unethical issues of civil society is limited to consciousness or spirit. Although Marx agrees with Hegel's view that civil society is unethical, he is not satisfied with his statement on this issue. Marx believes that Hegel's civil society is unrealistic and has no foothold. Through the study of political economy, Marx found that capital plays a very important role in civil society. Therefore, Marx re-discussed the non-ethical nature of civil society and realized the theoretical transcendence of Hegel. The non-ethical problem of civil society is not only the problem of Marx's era, but also the problem that we must face now. Exploring Marx's discussion at that time is also of theoretical and practical significance to us now.
