Abstract

This paper analyzes the literature on teachers' workload in foreign countries mainly through documentary analysis, and finds that the current situation of long working hours, stress, and many tasks is common among teachers' groups. Second, the analysis of the causes of teachers' workload is categorized and described according to personal, interpersonal, and social aspects. In addition, the effects of teachers' workload can be summarized as follows: an appropriate increase in workload will reduce teachers' absenteeism, but too much workload will affect teachers' physical and mental health, will not help them balance their professional and family relationships, and will hinder their professional development. Finally, based on the above analysis, it can be found that to prevent the negative effects of teachers' workload, relevant departments should formulate rules and regulations to protect teachers' rights and interests, minimize teachers' non-teaching tasks, strengthen humanistic care for teachers, and actively promote and encourage teachers' use of information technology.
