Abstract

This study is targeted at interpreting three learning outcomes covered by GTA course outcomes as required by Postgraduate Certificate in Academic Practice in the UK. By using cases illustrating the GTA Learning Outcomes 1, 3 & 5, this study expounds about the different methods in teaching and learning, different modes of assessment and feedback, and self-reflection on those education methods for future implications. The demonstrated cases of learning outcomes will have implications for teachers delivering classes in the context of Sino-British cooperative higher education. Practical implications will be regarding how to possibly use different theories to support learning & teaching, how to assess students for their different learning outcomes and how to reflect on the educational practices of oneself. As a self-reported case study, this work does not aim at producing generalizable conclusions or amending current learning or teaching theories. Instead, this study may extend the feasible interpretations towards the GTA Learning Outcomes in delivering British-styled classes to Chinese mainland students.
