Research Status and Trends of Pragmatics Translation in China

Abstract
Since the introduction into China in 1986, Pragmatics translation has become a mature research field. The authors used bibliometric method to analyze the research papers on Pragmatics translation published in domestic core journals, to sort out the development course and current research situation of Pragmatics translation, and to summarize the possible research directions of Pragmatics translation in the future. Linguists usually divide pragmatics into three main fields of study: Applied Pragmatics, Descriptive Pragmatics, and Formal Pragmatics. The results show that the research themes are broad, including literary translation, sign language translation, interpretation, traditional Chinese medicine translation and so on, however, the research on Pragmatics translation in China has not been innovative enough in terms of theoretical perspectives in the past 10 years because the theoretical perspectives are mostly concentrated in correlational translation theory, conformism and pragmatic equivalence perspectives. The authors concluded that dynamic contexts, empirical research and interdisciplinary research are the future development trends of Pragmatics translation.
