The development process of excellent Chinese traditional culture in Guangdong College of Finance and Trade was analyzed in this paper based on the summary of an excellent Chinese traditional culture (lacquer and paper-cutting craftsmanship) and in combination with the daily teaching practice. This paper mainly describes that our school has introduced the excellent traditional culture in the south regions of the Five Ridges (hereinafter referred to as “Lingnan Culture”) into the campuses and passed it on the traditional folk skills among the younger generations since its establishment in 2019. With the skilled master studio as a carrier, the school built three platforms: classroom teaching, professional associations and practice by competitions, to broaden the inheritance channels of lacquer crafts and paper-cutting folk crafts by integrating the traditional way of mentoring apprentice by masters and, so as to let students learn about the inheritance of traditional culture, absorb the essence of traditional crafts, enhance their cultural confidence in inheritance and innovation, and gradually grow into a new generation of skilled folk craftsmen.
