Abstract

The rice harvest itself presents a complex technological process where the interaction of each of its elements enables the normal development of the different operations. In Cuba, the mechanization of rice is given by the diversity of technical means that participate in the harvest and by the varied conditions of operation of these means in correspondence with the irrigation and drainage systems that are used and that in fact condition the harvest method to use in our rice fields. The objective of this work is to analyze the quality of the mechanized rice harvest, carried out by the New Holland rice harvesters, in the working conditions of the “Los Palacios” Agroindustrial Grain Company, located in the province of Pinar del Río, in Cuba. The parameters were evaluated based on the quality of the harvested product, such as: whole grain, peeled and/or broken, content of impurities and total losses.
